The opening race of BMTRC is a unique uphill challenge in pure vertical format – 6 km with 1,000+ meters of elevation gain. This is the only race in the BMTRC that does not start at Rača Monastery nor finish in Bajina Bašta.

The race begins in front of the mountaineering lodge in Rastište, and the finish line awaits at the breathtaking Sjenič viewpoint, one of the most stunning locations overlooking Tara.

The opening 500 meters follow a gentle ascent on asphalt before runners enter a 1.5 km single-track section. A 600-meter gravel road through the village comes next, after which the terrain alternates between technical single-track and rough ATV paths.

The final 500 meters raise the challenge to the maximum – a steep off-trail push to the summit, delivering a true vertical kilometer experience.
